9 7 <br />City Manager Sweatt requested authorization for a grant to the Texas Parks and Wild- <br />life Department in the amount of $3,000 covering 50% of the cost of parking and <br />court improvements at Culbertson Park._ <br />Resolution No. 1806, authorizing City Manager Sweatt to make application to the <br />Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for grant in the amount of $3,000, being , of <br />the estimated cost of the parking and court improvements - Culbertson-Park project, <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Philley and seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for the adoption of the resolution. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1806 . <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department of the <br />State of Texas will entertain applications for. grants for additional <br />recreational facilities on a 50 -50 basis; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous <br />of processing a grant application for parking improvements to serve <br />the Culbertson Park Tennis Courts, at a total project cost of <br />$6, 000. 00, $3, 000.00 to be provided by grant and $3, 000.00 to be <br />provided by local funds and in kind services; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />1. That an application be made to the Texas Parks and <br />Wildlife Department for a grant in the amount of $3, 000. 00, being <br />one -half of the estimated costs of the Parking Improvements - <br />Culbertson Park Tennis Courts Project, with the City of Paris pro- <br />viding $3, 000. 00 in funds and in kind services. <br />2. That Kerry R. Sweatt, City Manager of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf <br />of the City of Paris, to execute and file such application for grant <br />and assurances of compliance with all of the requirements for said <br />grant, to execute such contract or contracts as may be necessary <br />for the grant applied for, to provide such information and furnish <br />such documents as may be required by said Department, and to act <br />as the authorized correspondent and representative for the accom- <br />plishment of the project. <br />3. That Joe N. McCollum, Director of Community Development <br />of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby designated Project Director. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of May, 1977. <br />ATTEST: <br />11.
