Councilman Malone suggested that $700.00 be placed in the budget as a grant to the Optimist Club for the electric bill at the Woodall Little League Park and that $2,000.00 be placed in the budget for the Lamar County Child Development Program and further that travel expenses for nurses be placed in the budget. Councilman Philley suggested that money in Revenue Sharing could be better utilized on capital improvements and suggested that water improvements proposed for the Water and Sewer Fund budget be funded from Revenue Sharing Funds. City Manager Sweatt reminded the Council that in accordance with the federal guide- lines, a public hearing was held on May 17, 1977 at 1:30 P. M. by the chief executive officer of the City on Revenue Sharing Funds. City Manager Sweatt requested an executive session to discuss personnel matters. Mayor Brunette declared an executive session, and City Manager Sweatt discussed a personnel matter. Mayor Brunette declared the executive session closed, and the regular session open. Upon consensus of the Council, Mayor Brunette instructed the city manager to generate figures and estimates for the proposed 1977 -78 budget, taking into consideration sug- gestions made by the Councilmen at the public hearing, such revised figures to be presented at a public hearing called for June 14, 1977. The manager was directed to publish the required legal notices as required by the City Charter for an additional public hearing. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned MAYOR JAMES M.
