0006 ?5 <br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />January 28, 2008 <br />Page 4 <br />Mayor Freelen informed Council this item was tabled at the January 14, 2008, regular <br />meeting and should they wish to consider this matter, he would need a Motion to bring it from the <br />table. <br />A Motion to bring this item from the table was made by Council Member Wilson and <br />seconded by Council Member Brown. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br />At the request of Council at the last meeting, Gene Anderson reported that staff had added a <br />line under Section 8.0. He said the statement prohibited the City of Paris from investing in securities <br />known as collateralized debt obligations which are pools of debt that include sub -prime mortgages, <br />even if allowed by law. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Wilson and seconded by <br />Council Member Biard. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br />D(2). <br />Mayor Freelen stated there was one item remaining on the Consent Agenda and moved to item <br />(2) RESOLUTION NO. 2008-006: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ORDERING THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />FOR THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, TO BE HELD ON THE SECOND <br />SATURDAY IN MAY 2008, SAME BEING THE 10TH DAY OF MAY2008, <br />BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 O' CLOCKA.M. AND 7:00 O'CLOCK P.M., BY <br />THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF DISTRICTS 1, 2, 3, AND 6 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS WITH EARLY VOTING FOR THE SAME BEING CONDUCTED <br />IN THE CITY HALL ANNEX WEST FROM THE 28TH DAY OF APRIL 2008, <br />THROUGH THE 6TH DAY OF MAY 2008, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, <br />BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 O'CLOCK A.M. AND 5:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />WITH ADDITIONAL HOURS OF 8:00 O'CLOCK A.M. UNTIL 8:00 O'CLOCK <br />P.M.
