000627 Regular City Council Meeting January 28, 2008 Page 6 Mayor Freelen said he was not comfortable with a provision in item 14, because elderly people needed to be able to stack firewood on their front porches during cold weather. It was a consensus of Council to prohibit firewood on front porches from May 1' through September 30' of each year. Subject to the change regarding firewood, Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. Council Member Brown and Mayor Freelen expressed appreciation to members of the Task Force for all of their hours spent on projects. 9. Consideration of and action on the following resolutions: A. RESOLUTION NO. 2008-007: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; APPROVING AND SUPPORTING THE POSITION OF COORDINATOR OF COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES AT THE PARIS /LAMAR COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Fisher and seconded by Council Member Biard. Anthony Bethel explained that the Health Department, the Christus St. Joseph Community Foundation and the Paris Regional Medical Foundation had been working together to gain a social worker position in the form of a grant. He said the person would coordinate all of the services and in addition, the foundations had agreed to fund this position for three years. Courtney Eudy, Executive Director at the Christus St. Joseph Community Foundation, stated the community needed this position. Bobby Walters, Chairman of the Paris Regional Health Care Endowment Fund, spoke in support of this item. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. B. RESOLUTION NO. 2008-008: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN ADDENDUM NUMBER ONE TO THE LEASE BETWEEN AIR DIRECT (FORMERLY LEASED TO MARK BUSTER) AND THE CITY OF PARIS FOR PROPERTY AT COX FIELD AIRPORT EXTENDING THE LEASE FOR TWO(2) ADDITIONAL YEARS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Wilson and seconded by Council Member Brown. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays.
