Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Barney Bray, seconded by Billy Trenado to approve the petition. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Paris Lakes Medical <br />Center, LLC for a change in zoning from Agricultural District (A) and a One - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) on 40 acres in the A524 J <br />Leach Survey, being Part of Tract I and 4, located at 2675 SE 41St Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Ron Parker, 691 CR 1242 Detroit, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Parker <br />stated after three and a half (3 I/2) years they are finally here. This hospital (medical <br />office buildings) will have two hundred and twelve thousand (212,000) square feet <br />of office space and one hundred and eighty thousand (180,000) square feet of <br />hospital (medical office buildings) space. The structure is eighty (80) percent <br />leased already, excluding the retail and hotel area. They have several hotel <br />operators that are willing to commit but are looking for one that will work with the <br />hospital and have decent rates for families. The choices for the hotel are between <br />the Embassy Suites, Marriot, or the Hyatt Place. Their Architect is HKS (Harwood <br />K. Smith), which is largest and oldest hospital architect in the world. They are using <br />Thompson Engineering out of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Parker further stated that they <br />are trying to keep most of the work local with Harrison, Walker & Harper being the <br />general contractors. The management company will be his own company Mr. <br />Parker stated. Barney Bray asked if he has spoken with the Highway Department. <br />Mr. Parker stated he has already talked to them and worked out a plan. They will <br />need to move the entrance to the drive way down a hundred (100) feet. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Mike Folmar, seconded by John Lee to approve the petition. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />5. Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Paris Lakes <br />Medical Center LLC Addition 346, located at 2675 SE 41" Street. <br />Shawn Napier reviewed the preliminary plat with commissioners. Motion was made by <br />Billy Trenado, seconded by John Lee to approve the preliminary plat, subject to the City <br />Engineer's recommendations. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
