• <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, January 2, 1996 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday, January 2, 1995 at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Room, <br />City Hall, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. Reeves Hayter - Chairman 4. Eva Flenniken <br />2. Nadine Ausbie 5. Louis Yates <br />3. Curtis Fendley 6. Marshall Kent <br />7. Joe McCarthy <br />Earl Smith, City Engineer was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />The minutes of the December 4, 1995 meetings were approved with a motion by Marshall Kent. The <br />motion was seconded by Joe McCarthy and carried with a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />1. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Bob McCarley for a change in zoning from a <br />Single Family Two Dwelling District (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 8 C, City <br />Block 287 located in the 4800 Block of S.E. Loop 286. <br />A motion to bring item from the table was made by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Joe <br />McCarthy. The motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />The public hearing was declared opened. <br />Bob McCarley of 560 S.E. 33rd addressed the Planning and Zoning Commission speaking in <br />favor of the petition. Mr. McCarley requested the property be zoned as a Planned Development <br />District (PD- a,b,d,f ) He also presented a list of conditions which is attached as "Exhibit A ". <br />Mr. Tom Hensel of 815 S.E. 36th, spoke concerning the drainage problems that could arise if the <br />property is paved, but is in support of a Planned Development District (PD- a,b,d,o zoning. <br />No oue else spoke and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion to approve zoning as requested by Bob McCarley was made by Curtis Fendley and <br />seconded by Nadine Ausbie. The motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nay. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Robert Joe Johns for a change in zoning from a <br />One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Planned Development Dittrict (PD -b) on <br />Lot 5B, City Block 259, located at 2601 E. Cherry. <br />The public hearing was declared opened. <br />Robert Johns of 577 Timberbrook, spoke in favor of the zoning change. He stated the property <br />would be limited to two (2) structures and would be either single family or duplexes. <br />
