722 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94 -001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has <br />become aware of the continued improvement of US 82 to four <br />lanes from Sherman through the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the <br />citizens of Paris and the travelling public that a planning <br />study be made by the Texas Department of Transportation to <br />determine the best location for said four lane improvement to <br />US 82 through the City of Paris and its extraterritorial <br />jurisdiction in order that the City of Paris might do <br />concurrent appropriate planning; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />that the Texas Department of Transportation be, and it is <br />hereby requested to do a planning study of routing US 82 east <br />from Sherman through the City of Paris and its <br />extraterritorial jurisdiction; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mattie Cunningham, City <br />Clerk, is hereby directed to timely deliver a copy of this <br />Resolution to Bill Burnett, State Highway Engineer, Jay <br />Nelson, District Engineer, and Jimmy A. S. 82 and 271 <br />(N. E. Loop 286), and at Pine Mill Road's intersection with U. S. 82 <br />and 271 ( N. E. Loop 286); and further resolved, that Honorable L. P. <br />"Pete" Patterson be and is hereby requested to assist in the <br />procurement and completion of this project, was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Shelton, seconded by Councilman Williams for <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
