23 RESOLUTION NO. 94 -002 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of the need for safe intersections on US 82 and 271 (N.E. Loop 286) at Pine Mill Road and Collegiate Drive that will not reduce the utility of the Loop; and, WHEREAS, it is perceived that the addition- of grade separation signalization at these two intersections would —' make these two intersections safe without reducing the utility of the Loop; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS that the Texas Department of Transportation be, and it is hereby requested to proceed with all necessary matters including design and existing right -of -way utilization to accomplish grade separation crossings and signalization at Collegiate Drive's intersection with US 82 and 271 (N.E. Loop 286), and at Pine Mill Road's intersection with US 82 and 271 (N.E. Loop 286); and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Honorable L. P. Pete Patterson be and is hereby requested to assist in the procure- ment and completion of this project; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk, is hereby directed to timely deliver a copy of this Resolution to Honorably L. P. Pete Patterson, Bill Burnett, State Highway Engineer', Jay Nelson, District Engineer, and Jim Hall, Area Resident.Engineer. Passed and adopted the 10th day of January, 1994. Hay s, City Attorney �, �,; � r_ /_,_ �_ � - G orge Fis her, Mayor Resolution No. 94 -003, resolving by the City Council of the City of Paris that they go on record as being in complete support of the placement of a traffic signal at the proposed east access driveway of the Super Wal Mart location, approximately 800 feet west of the intersection of 42nd Street N. E. and U. S. 82 East; and directing Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk to timely delivery a copy of this resolution to Jimmy A. Hall, Area Engineer, Texas Department of Transportation, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman John Bell, seconded by Councilwoman McDonald for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
