if the Council and Mr. Bell wants to meet with this Executive Board or ours, we are willing to sit down and talk and try to work this out, one on one we will not do it. Charles Fullbright, a future Councilman, was present saying that one of the things that he is hearing is that we have a City Charter that we go by, or we have been going by, we have a City Attorney that more or less guides the Council in the right direction, then the City Attorney is telling us one thing, but we do not want to hear that, we want to go to the Attorney General, think about it, you have every thing you need right here, why go outside the City when you have the Charter. Mr. Haynes has more or less said that Mr. Bell is outside the city limits, and that disqualifies him as being a Councilmember. After a considerable amount of discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Brown to table action on consideration of and action on Councilman Jim Bell's continued service on the Paris City Council until the regular Council meeting on May 7, 1994. Councilman Shelton seconded the motion, and stated that he would like to see more information developed, and would like to get a ruling from the Attorney General with input from all parties. He thought if all parties abided by that, it would be fair, and it would be cheaper on all of us, the NAACP would have their attorney involved, and Mr. Bell would have his attorney involved. After further discussion, the motion carried 4 ayes, 2 nays, with Mayor Fisher and Councilwoman McDonald voting no. Councilman Jim Bell departed the council chambers at this time. Resolution No. 94 -024, resolving that the City Council of the City of Paris, that the bulletin board located in the entrance way of the City Hall Annex at 150 1st Street S. E., be and the same is hereby, designated as the official bulletin board of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, was presented. A motion was made by Councilwoman McDonald, seconded by Councilman John Bell for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
