r <br />2 <br />i <br />Mr. Woodby was present and told the Commission of his proposal to <br />purchase the house at 2246 Lamar Avenue, remove it from the <br />property and construct a new building for his insurance agency and <br />for the Temporary Service Personnel office. <br />No one else was present to speak on the matter and the public <br />hearing was_ closed. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Fendley, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to <br />recommend approval of the change. The motion carried 6 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />Chairman Hayter next opened the public hearing to consider the <br />petition of Bobby Smallwood for a change in zoning from a <br />Commercial District (C) to a Commercial District (C) and Specific <br />Use Permit - Auto Fuel Sales (49) on Lot 12, City Block 321 located <br />at the intersection of F.M. 195 and Spur Hwy. 138. <br />Mr. Clifford ask to be excused due to conflict of interest. <br />Mr. Fendley made a motion,to excuse Mr. Clifford from the meeting. <br />Mr. McCarthy seconded the motion which carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Smallwood told the Commission that a convenience store was <br />proposed.for the property, which was already ,zoned Commercial, and <br />that the owner was requesting a Special Permit for Auto Fuel Sales. <br />Speaking from the audience, Mr. Clifford said he had purchased the <br />property several years ago because of its condition and had it <br />cleaned up and zoned Commercial. He spoke in favor of the request. <br />No one else was present to speak on the matter and the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Fendley, seconded by Mr. McCarthy, to <br />recommend approval of the petition.
