Councilman Bell wanted to know what happens to an elderly person house if they move into-the housing unit, is there a requirement of their income in order to get in this housing,and wanted to know if this will be another piece of property the City will have to do some with. Betty Kildahl, Director of Lamar County Human Resources Council, appeared before the Council telling them that if most of these people are going to be in rental property already, and if the houses were worth very much, the would not be eligible because the would be over assets. Ms. Kildahl said she did not know what would happen to a substandard house that people should not be living in now, which is a very valid concern, that she would be willing to work with the City on this matter. After a considerable amount of discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Jim Bell seconded by Councilman John Bell to table this item. The motion carried 5 ayes, with Mayor Fisher and Councilman Shelton voting no. D. LaFoy for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Planned Development - Housing District (PD -b) on Lot 10, City Block 311 located at 3420 Clarksville Street, and Agenda Item No. 13, public hearing to consider the petition of Jane Steely, David Steely and Jimmy Guthrie for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Planned Development Housing District (PD -b) on Lot 24, 26, and 27, City Block 312 located at 3375, 3395, and 3425 Clarksville Street, from the table. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open to consider the above petition for rezoning, and called for proponents to appear.
