A motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing preparation of an ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 changing the zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 on Lots 8B and 8C, City Block 257 -A, to be presented at the next regular council meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. A motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Shelton to allow Councilman Jim Bell to return to the council meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman Jim. Bell entered the council chambers and assumed his seat at the council tble. City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for rezoning: Lonnie Dear, Lot 11, Block 1, Central Park Addition from Two Family Dwelling District to Office District; Sam Bolton, Lot 2, City Block 341, Hwy 24 South of Loop, from Agricultural District to Commercial District; Richard Powell, Lots 9, 9A, 10, 11, 12, and 13, City Block 259, Collegiate Drive and E. Cherry Street, from SF -2 and Specific Use Permit District to Planned Development - Commercial District and Planned Development - Housing District; David Hicks, Lots 1, 2, 8, and 9, Block 7, S. J. Wright Addition from 2F & SF -2 District to Commercial District. Mayor Fisher referred the petitions to the Planning an Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the March 7, 1994 Planning and Zoning Commission's meeting, and before the City Council March 10, 1994. Resolution No. 94 -007, referring a list of hazardous buildings to the Building Hazard Inspection Committee, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Shelton for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
