711 <br />active in attempting to settle the matter between the parties, that he <br />is requested a meeting with them tomorrow to see if an agreement could <br />be reached between the neighborhood and the development, and hopefully <br />have the restraining order removed. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Shelton announced that the Council would consider Agenda <br />Item No. 7 at this time, and declared the public hearing open to <br />consider the petition of Bob Wright for a changing in zoning from a Two <br />Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Neighborhood Service District (NS) <br />on Lot 7, City Block 33 -A located at 1405 E. Houston Street. <br />Mayor Pro Tem called for proponents to appear, and Lisa Farris, <br />daughter of Mr. Wright spoke in behalf of the petition saying her <br />father had a locksmith business which he wanted to operate out of his <br />residence at this location. <br />Mayor Pro Tem called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Jim Bell, seconded by Councilman Brown <br />authorizing preparation of an ordinance to be presented at the next <br />regular council meeting changing the zoning from a two family Dwelling <br />District to a Neighborhood Service District on Lot 7, City Block 33 -A. <br />The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Shelton declared the public hearing open to consider the <br />petition of Lester Moore for a change in zoning from a One Family <br />Dwelling District: No. 2 (SF -2) to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. <br />1 (MF -1) on Lot 2, Block 10, Town North estates located on the <br />northeast corner of Kessler Drive and 29th N. E. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Shelton called for proponents to appear, and none <br />appeared. <br />Mayor pro Tem Shelton called for opponents to appear and Mike <br />Hutchison, 1220 N. Collegiate, appeared before the Council presenting a <br />petition containing 26 signature of property owners objecting to the <br />zoning change. <br />Jack Garrett, 2540 Kessler Drive, Richard Manning, and Fariborz Zamir <br />all appeared speaking against the zoning change. <br />No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Williams <br />to deny the zoning change of Lester Moore. The motion carried 5 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Shelton declared the public hearing open to consider the <br />petition of Billy M. Hill for a change in zoning from a Two Family <br />Dwelling District (2F) to a Neighborhood Service District (NS) on Lot <br />27, Block 1, Hayes Addition located at 514 N. W. 7th Street. <br />
