Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial. -,of the change, and the City Council tabled action on the requested zoning change January 7, 1993, the City Council referred the matter of appropriate zoning on Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Fitzhugh Addition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation, and their recommendation at the February 1, 1993 meeting was for Neighborhood Service District zoning be applied to both the lots. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Shelton to accept the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission. After further discussion, Councilman Burnett and Councilman Shelton withdrew their motion and second. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Shelton instructing City Manager Malone, and City Attorney Haynes to meet with Jesse Hall and Tony Rios in order to come up with an appropriate zoning classification for Lots 1, and 2, Block 2, Fitzhugh Addition, and bring their recommendation back to the Council at the regular Council meeting the 15th day of February. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open to consider a change in zoning from a Central Area District (CA) to a Public Lands and Institutions District (PLI) on Lots 1, City Block 15, Lot 9, City Block 6, Lot 12, City Block 180 and Lots 5 -A, City Block 179 -A located at the intersection of S. E. 1st Street and E. Kaufman Street belonging to the City of Paris. Mayor Fisher called for proponents to appear, none appeared. Mayor Fisher called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilwoman Ingram authorizing preparation of an ordinance to be presented at the next regular council meeting for approval of the zoning change. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open to consider a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Public Lands and Institutions District (PLI) on Lot 1, City Block 241 -B located at 401 N. W. 18th belonging to the Paris Independent School District. No one was present to speak for or against the zoning change, and the public hearing was declared closed. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Shelton authorizing preparation of an ordinance to be presented at the next regular council meeting for approval of the zoning change. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
