Mayor Clifford called for proponents to appear, and Ronnie Thrasher <br />appeared in his behalf stating he would change from a 4 -6 apartment <br />unit to a duplex as the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended <br />Planned Development - Housing instead of Multi- Family Dwelling District <br />No. 1 in order for the Planning and Zoning Commission to review a site <br />plan. <br />Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by <br />Councilman Kent approving the petition of Ronnie Thrasher as presented, <br />and called for the preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at the <br />next regular council meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Clifford declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Nathan J. Bell for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling <br />District (2F) to an Office District (0) on Lot 6, City Block 113 -A <br />located at 414 12th S. E. <br />Mayor Clifford called for proponents to appear and Nathan Bell, 624 <br />Church Street, appeared before the Council stating he represented the <br />property owner, and it was on his recommendation that the rezoning <br />petition was made. Mr. Bell stated there was no plans for the property <br />at this time, but felt the zoning change would enhance the possibility <br />of development which would improve the area. <br />Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by <br />Councilman Booth approving the zoning change, and called for the <br />preparation of an ordinance to be presented at the next regular council <br />meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, O nays. <br />Mayor Clifford declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Melvin D. Abbott for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwe11in <br />District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF-3� <br />and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home (39) on part of Lot 12, City <br />Block 309 located on the south side of Brown Avenue, 135 feet west of <br />19th S. W. <br />Mayor Clifford called for proponents to appear, Melvin Abbott and Dixie <br />Evans, 1925 Brown Street, appeared before the Council requesting the <br />zoning change stating they wished to place a mobile home on the <br />property and later build a house. <br />Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear, and Norman Falls, 1965 <br />Brown Street, appeared before the Council objecting to the zoning <br />change. Mr. Falls said his property was joined on two sides, and was <br />opposed to the mobile home because he felt it would devalue his <br />property. <br />
