0139 <br />Mike Alexander, Code Enforcement Officer appeared before the Council <br />and stated that he felt the building was a hazard since it was so close <br />to other building, and that the property was vacant. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Folmar to accept the <br />recommendation of the Building Hazard inspection Committee to order <br />removal of the building within 30 days. The motion failed for lack of <br />a second. <br />After further discussion, Councilman Hoog moved to give Mr. Landers 90 <br />to 120 days to maKe the property occupied, if at that time it is not <br />satisfactory with the Council, then accept the recommendations of the <br />Building Hazard Inspection Committee to order removal within 30 days. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Folmar and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />3. 1033 N. E. 8th, Lot 3, Block 3, Pickard Addition. <br />Mike Alexander stated that the owner, Willie Mae Shelton was deceased, <br />but he has located members of the family and hopefully will be able to <br />work with them in getting the building removed within 30 days. <br />Ms. Lovie Young, sister of the property owner appeared and stated that <br />the yard had been mowed, and asked for additional time to repair the <br />building or have the building removed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Bone to <br />give the owner 90 to 120 days in order to make the necessary repairs or <br />remove the structure. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that item number 4, 728 E. Hearon and item <br />number 5, 2005 Culbertson have been removed. <br />6. 1101 South Church, Lot.16, Block 15. <br />Mr. Alexander stated that the owners are in the process of removing the <br />building and it will be a matter of 15 - 20 days before it is <br />completed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Bone to <br />accept the recommendations of the Building Hazard Inspection Committee <br />giving the owner of the building 30 days for removal. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />7. 1610 15th N. E., Lot 6, Block 281. <br />Mr. Alexander told the Council that the structure was not repairable, <br />and the 'Last time he inspected it the owner had placed a fence around <br />the property and appeared to be cleaning up around the property in <br />preparation to burn the building. Mr. Alexander told the Council that <br />the owner was aware that the City required a burning permit. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Wortham to <br />accept the recommendation of the Building Hazard Inspection Committee <br />
