City Manager Doty discussed with the Council the remodeling of the Lone Star Gas <br />Company's Building recently purchased at 150 1st Street S. E. The Manager discussed <br />means and methods of remodeling the building using city forces for tearing out the <br />interior, hiring an inspector to oversee sub - contracts of various phases of the <br />remodeling, and advised that the estimated cost would be approximately $100,000.00 <br />exclusive of efforts of city forces. After disuussion, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Hoog authorizing the City Manager to <br />proceed with the remodeling of the building and limiting expenditures to $100,000.00. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />JOE GRAHAM, MAYOR, CITY OF PARIS <br />ATTEST: <br />H. GREENE, CITY CLERK <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />January 21, 1985 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in special session, Monday, January <br />21, 1985, 5:15 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following <br />Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Walter F. Williams, Jeff <br />Hoog, and Billy J. Burnett. Also present were City Manager David H. Doty, City <br />Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the special meeting had been called for the purpose <br />of considering authorizing the purchase of Lot 12 and 13, Block 1, Smith 2nd <br />Addition and Lot 17, City Block 251A from R. L. Moore. <br />City Manager Doty advised the Council that the lot fronted on Center Street <br />and the back side of the lot adjointed City property serving at the City's <br />service area. After discussion, Resolution No. 85 -004 authorizing the Mayor <br />to enter into contract of sale and purchase upon certain terms and conditions <br />with R. L. Moore was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams <br />seconded by Councilman Wilson for adoption of the Resolution. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
