A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett, seconded b7 Councilman Wilson authorizing the preparation <br />of Ordinances to include the recommendations of the Traffic Commission. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Doty presented a request from Ronnie Rains to remove a tract of land <br />on Highway 82 East from the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the City of Paris <br />so that this tract of land can be annexed by the City of Reno. After discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams to deny <br />the request. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Eugene Bostic, 645 S. E. 5th, appeared before the Council and discussed <br />drainage problems. <br />Willie Wortham, 335 E. Sherman Street, appeared before the Council and discussed <br />the drainage and overflow of water on 5th S. E. <br />J. C. McKnight, 644 5th S. E. also appeared before the Council and discussed <br />the drainage ditch and bridge on Sherman Street, and the drainage on 5th S. E. <br />Street. <br />City Attorney Haynes discussed Southwestern Bell and AT &T request for a rate <br />increase with the Council, and was instructed to handle in the usual manner. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the Council would go into executive session,and <br />declared the regular session closed and the executive session open. <br />Legal matters were discussed with the City Attorney. <br />Mayor Graham declared the regular session open, and the executive session closed. <br />Mayor Graham advised the Council that the regular Council meetings would be held <br />on April 11, 1985 and April 15, 1985, and that there would be a Special Council <br />Meeting April 17, 1985 to canvess the Election returns. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />JOE GRAHAM, MAYOR, CITY OF PARIS <br />ATTEST: <br />MATTIE CUNNINGHAM, ASST.
