A motion was made by Mr. Steely, seconded by Mrs. Johnson to recommend <br />Office District zoning on Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 1, Hayes Heights <br />Addition on the north side of Lamar between the Coe tract and Lynx <br />Properties tract. The motion carried 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Nutt, seconded by Mr. Woolston to recommend <br />Planned Development - Office zoning on Lots 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9, City Block <br />285 on the south side of Lamar from 32nd S.E. west to and including the <br />John S. House tract. The motion carried 8 ayes, 1 nay with Mr. Steely <br />voting nay. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Woolston, seconded by Mr. McMonigle to recommend <br />Office District zoning on Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, City Block 289 on the south <br />side of Lamar Avenue between 32nd S.E. and 33rd S.E. The motion carried <br />9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Mr. McMonigle, seconded by Mrs. Battle to recommend <br />Planned Development - Shopping Center zoning on Lot 1 -A, City Block 287 <br />on the south side of Lamar being the R.V. Free tract. The motion carried <br />9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Steely, seconded by Mr. Nutt to recommend Office <br />District zoning on Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13, City Block 296 <br />on the north side of Lamar Avenue between the Calvary Methodist Church tract <br />and the Darrell Coats tract. The motion carried 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Chairman Swaim thanked those in attendance and advised them the recommendations <br />would go to the City Council for consideration. <br />�j Chairman Swaim declared the public hearing open on the petition of Cecil Poss <br />Lon from a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) <br />to an Office Qistrict (0) on Lot 2, Block 1, Hayes Heights Addition located <br />at 3025 Lamar Avenue. <br />Lonnie Kennemer represented the applicant stating that the property was in the <br />area just considered on a large scale along Lamar Avenue and was recommended <br />for Office zoning. He stated that a sale of this property was pending based <br />on office use and a separate petition had been filed so that the zoning <br />request could be considered on its own merit should the larger area he de- <br />layed for some reason. <br />There !as no one else present to speak on the matter and the public hearing <br />was closed. <br />A r;rotion was made by Mr. Woolston, seconded by Mrs. Battle to recommend <br />approval of the petition. The motion carried 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Chairman Swaim declared the public hearing open on the petition of D" g-l-a -s <br />Carlo for a change in zoning from a Heavy Industrial District (HI) to a <br />Te avy Industrial District (HI) and Specific Use Permit - Salvage Yard (41) <br />on Lots 5 and 6, Block 5 of the Texas and Pacific Addition located at 1490 <br />S. Church. <br />Nr. Carlow was present and told the Conninission the property had been a junk <br />yard for many years and he planned to do away with the used lumber sales <br />and expand tree scrap metal business. He said he was willing to put up a <br />solid fence to screen the scrap materials from view along the street. He <br />
