3, Locust Hill Addition located at 519 Brown Avenue. <br />Mr. Bass told the Commission of his proposal to build two duplex dwellings <br />on the property which he had recently purchased and cleaned up by removing <br />the old house that was there. He said the duplex dwelling's would have <br />carports and would be landscaped. fie said he had no intention of upsetting <br />the neighborhood and would have quality rental units there. <br />Present in opposition to the request were Abby Gail Clark, 504 Brown Ave., <br />Barney .Anderson, 1025 5th S.W., Z.D. Locke, 1015 5th S.W., Henry Johnson, <br />955 5th S.W. and Mrs. Jerry Moore, 1415 Graham Street. They were opposed to <br />any thing more than a duplex in the neighborhood which they described as <br />quite. Several mentioned the age of the area and the frequent water line <br />breaks. <br />Elizabeth Bass, stated the reason they had decided to build 4 units instead <br />of 2 was because of the many calls they had received for rental space. <br />r <br />No one else spoke on the matter and the public hearing was closed. <br />Following discussion a motion was made by Mr. Steely, seconded by Mrs. <br />Johnson to deny the request. The motion carried 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. McCollum presented a replat of Lots 10 and 10 -A, Block A of Jefferson <br />Heights Addition located on the northwest corner of Jefferson Road and 40th <br />S.E. He said the proposed replat would make three building sites out of two <br />but that the three lots would meet all the size requirements and he re- <br />commended approval. <br />A motion was made by Mrs. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Woolston to recommend <br />approval of the replat.
