MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL March 14, 1983 The City Council of the March 14, 1983, 7:00 P. Graham called the meeti W. C.Francis, Donald G. F. Williams, and George David Doty, City Clerk, City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, M. in the Council Room of City Hall. Mayor ng to order with the following Councilmen present: Wilson, Larry McGee, Gene McWaters, Jr. Walter Fisher, Jr. Also present were City Manager H. C. Greene, and T. K. Haynes, City Attorney. Prayer was offered by Dr. Raymond Armstrong. Prior to proceeding with the Agenda, Mayor Graham presented a plaque of appreciation to John Buss, Director of the Infiltration /Inflow Sewer Project for his efforts on that project. A motion was then made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Fisher authorizing the preparation of a Resolution commending John Buss and the Staff for their work on the project. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as presented. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of James Marshall for a change in zoning from a Commercial District to a Light Industrial District on Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Block 1, Smith's First Addition located on the south side of W. Center St. 100 feet east of 10th N. W. Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear, and none appeared. Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and Mr. Charles Waldrum, Attorney, representing Merico appeared requesting the denial of the petition. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed and an ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) ON LOTS 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 AND 14 BLOCK 1 SMITH'S FIRST ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JAMES MARSHALL, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Wilson to deny the zoning and deny the passage of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
