MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />March 14, 1983 <br />The City Council of the <br />March 14, 1983, 7:00 P. <br />Graham called the meeti <br />W. C.Francis, Donald G. <br />F. Williams, and George <br />David Doty, City Clerk, <br />City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, <br />M. in the Council Room of City Hall. Mayor <br />ng to order with the following Councilmen present: <br />Wilson, Larry McGee, Gene McWaters, Jr. Walter <br />Fisher, Jr. Also present were City Manager <br />H. C. Greene, and T. K. Haynes, City Attorney. <br />Prayer was offered by Dr. Raymond Armstrong. <br />Prior to proceeding with the Agenda, Mayor Graham presented a plaque <br />of appreciation to John Buss, Director of the Infiltration /Inflow <br />Sewer Project for his efforts on that project. <br />A motion was then made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher authorizing the preparation of a Resolution commending John <br />Buss and the Staff for their work on the project. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of <br />previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved <br />as presented. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />James Marshall for a change in zoning from a Commercial District to <br />a Light Industrial District on Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Block <br />1, Smith's First Addition located on the south side of W. Center St. <br />100 feet east of 10th N. W. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear, and none appeared. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and Mr. Charles Waldrum, <br />Attorney, representing Merico appeared requesting the denial of the <br />petition. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed and an <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) ON <br />LOTS 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 AND 14 BLOCK 1 SMITH'S FIRST ADDITION, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO JAMES MARSHALL, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN <br />TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C); AND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) SO <br />ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by <br />Councilman Wilson to deny the zoning and deny the passage of the <br />Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
