277 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />August 10, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />August 10, 1981, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Burnett called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Walter F. Williams, Travis Wortham, <br />Joe Graham, Larry McGee, and Ken Kohls. Also present were City Manager, R. W. <br />Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Rev. Francis Hamilton. <br />Mayor Burnett ask if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings, <br />furnished to the Council members. There being no corrections, the minutes were <br />approved. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Corrine Wade <br />for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) to a neighborhood <br />Service District on Lot 10, City Block 52, located at 423 7th N. W. <br />Mayor Burnett called for propenents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public hearing <br />was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2585 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING <br />A NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS) ON LOT 10, CITY BLOCK 52, ON PROPERTY BELONG- <br />ING TO CORRINE WADE, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO - <br />FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD <br />SERVICE DISTRICT (NS) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented the final plat of the S. S.L. A. Commercial Addition, <br />located north side of Loop 286 N. E. between FM 195 and 30th N. E. After discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Williams approving <br />the final plat, subject to the requirements of the City Engineer. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a replat of Lots 6, 7, 8, Block 5, S. J. Wright <br />Addition, located southeast corner of 19th S. W. and Kaufman St. After discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman McGee approving the <br />replat. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the next order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Traffic Commission. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that the Traffic Commission had recommended the placing <br />of handicapped parking spaces in the downtown area. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Wortham, seconded by Councilman Graham authorizing the preparation of an <br />Ordinance establishing handicapped parking spaces in the downtown area.
