M. Mayor Burnett called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Walter F. Williams, Travis Wortham and Larry McGee. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Eddie Johnson. Mayor Burnett asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings, furnished to the Council members. There being no corrections, the minutes were approved. Mayor Burnett announced that the first order of business would be consideration of recommendation made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Dora Beatty for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home on Lot 4, City Block 1, West - side Addition located on the south side of West Walker Street, 50 feet east of 20th Street N. W. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and none appeared. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and Mr. Mack Russell appeared in opposition to the zoning change. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH- ING A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. # (SF -3) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, MOBILE HOME (39) ON LOT 4, BLOCK 1, WESTSIDE ADDITION, UPON PROPERTY BELONGING TO DORA BEATTY, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, MOBILE HOME (39), SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Francis to deny the Ordinance and the zoning change. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Ed Satcher for a change in zoning from a Heavy Industrial District to a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 on Lot 12, City Block 309, located on the southwest corner of 19th S. W. and Brown Avenue. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Ed. Satcher, Mr. John Cunningham, and Mr. R. A. Williams, and Mr. Rodney Sather appeared in behalf of the petition. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public hear- ing was declared closed.
