20 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />April 13, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />April 13, 1981, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: Travis Wortham, Walter F. Williams, W. C. Francis, <br />Billy J. Burnett, and Kenneth E. Kohls. Also present were City Manager, R. W. <br />Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and Acting City Clerk, Joe McCollum. <br />Prayer was offered by Rev. Glenn Vickers, Calvary Baptist Church. <br />Mayor Malone asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meetings furnished to the Council members. There being no corrections, the <br />minutes were approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of Dale Mayhugh for <br />a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District #2, to a One Family Dwelling <br />District #2 and Specific Use Permit - Day Care (25) on Lot 4, Block A, Greenbriar <br />Addition, located at 245 31st S. E. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and Mickey Rose, 360 31st S. W., Marvin <br />Allen, 220 31st S. W., Charlie Long, 250 31st S. W., and Mrs. James McFadden, 255 <br />31st S. W. all spoke in opposition to the proposed zoning change. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing closed, and following discussion, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett to deny the petition. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of A. B. <br />Spann for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District # 2 to a One <br />Family Dwelling District #3, on Lot 3, City Block 192, located on the north side <br />of West Houston Street between 18th N. W. and 19th N. W. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO 2563 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3) ON LOT 3, CITY BLOCK <br />192, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO A. B. SPANN, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORM - <br />ERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNAT- <br />ING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Kohls for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
