RESOLUTION NO. 2096 WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of Wards 4, 5 and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 4th day of April, 1981, for the purpose of voting for and electing the Councilmen from each of said Wards to serve as members of the City Council for the ensuing two (2) years, to -wit: 1. Councilman From Ward Four (4) 2. Councilman From Ward Five (5) 3. Councilman From Ward Seven (7) WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris Division, in Civil Action No. P- 75 -3 -CA, and as provided in the Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas wherein they do not conflict with said Order, such election was conducted and held at three (3) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling place in Wards 4, 5 and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly appointed and designated election officials of and for the three (3) respective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after due and deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the following results of said election, to -wit: (1) IN WARD FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 56 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD FOUR (4) AS FOLLOWS: Thomas B. (Skip) Steely, Jr. 18 votes; Joe Graham 38 votes; Write -In Candidates —_ votes. (2) IN WARD FIVE (5) A TOTAL OF 72 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD FIVE (5) AS FOLLOWS: W. C. Francis 55 votes; Bill Powers —I votes; Write -In Candidates U votes. (3) IN WARD SEVEN (7) A TOTAL OF 176 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD SEVEN (7) AS FOLLOWS: Larry P. McGee 89 votes; Mrs. Sammie DeJarnatt 33 votes; James R. Holland 11 votes; Paul Wood 8 votes; Chester E. Martindale -mil votes; Write -In Candidates —� votes. ._
