MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS May 11, 1981 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, May 11, 1981, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Pro Tem Burnett called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Walter F. Williams, Travis Wortham, Kenneth E. Kohls, Joe Graham, and Larry McGee. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by Rev. Ray Armstrong. Mayor Burnett announced that the first order of business would be the election of a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem and announced that nominations were open for Mayor. Councilman Williams nominated Councilman Burnett for Mayor and was seconded by Councilman Wortham. Councilman Kohls nominated Councilman Francis for Mayor, and was seconded by Councilman McGee. A vote was taken which showed four (4) votes for Councilman Burnett, and three (3) votes for Councilman Francis, and Councilman Burnett was declared elected Mayor. Mayor Burnett announced that nomination were open for Mayor Pro Tem. Councilman Wortham nominated Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham. Council- man Francis nominated Councilman McGee. The vote was taken which showed five (5) votes for Councilman Williams and one (1) vote for Councilman McGee, and Councilman Williams was elected Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor Burnett ask if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meeting furnished to the Council members. There being no corrections, the minutes were approved. Mayor Brunett announced that the next order of business would be consideration of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of John L, Hutchin s for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a Mu ?ti- Family Dwelling District No. 1 on Lot 15, City Block 296 located at 3315 Lamar Avenue. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Mr. John Hutchings appeared in his behalf stating that an apartment complex was being constructed on an adjacent lot. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF -1) ON LOT 15, CITY BLOCK 296, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JOHN L. HUTCHINGS, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF-1) SO ESTABLISHED.
