2 ._' <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Louis Prihoda <br />for a change in zoning from a Neighborhood Service District to a Commercial <br />District on Lot 17, City Block 201 located on the northwest corner of Bonham <br />Street and 19th N. W. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Louis Prihoda appeared <br />in behalf of the petition. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2571 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 17, CITY BLOCK 201, ON PROPERTY <br />BELONGING TO F. N. WALKER, JR., SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY <br />DESIGNATED AS A NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS); AND DESIGNATING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council- <br />man Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the next order of business would be consideration <br />of the adoption of the new official zoning district map. Director of Community <br />Development, Joe McCollum, appeared before the Council and presented the proposed <br />zoning district map. After discussion, <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2572 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF TWO FIRST AMENDED, OFFICIAL ZONING DISTRICT <br />MAP CONSISTING OF A COVER SHEET AND NINE (9) INDIVIDUAL SECTION MAPS; PROVID- <br />I-NG FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JUNE, <br />1, 1901. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman <br />Francis for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, <br />Councilman Williams voting nay. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a petition for David Hicks for re- zoning of Lots <br />3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block 2, S. J. Wright Addition for General Retail to <br />Commercial District. <br />Mayor Burnett referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Airport Advisory Board had <br />recommended that a lease be granted to the FAA for a small tract of land at <br />Cox Field for the purpose of installing an antenna for very high frequency <br />direction finder. <br />
