Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Louis Prihoda for a change in zoning from a Neighborhood Service District to a Commercial District on Lot 17, City Block 201 located on the northwest corner of Bonham Street and 19th N. W. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Louis Prihoda appeared in behalf of the petition. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. WALKER, JR., SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum, appeared before the Council and presented the proposed zoning district map. After discussion, ORDINANCE NO. 2572 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF TWO FIRST AMENDED, OFFICIAL ZONING DISTRICT MAP CONSISTING OF A COVER SHEET AND NINE (9) INDIVIDUAL SECTION MAPS; PROVID- I-NG FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JUNE, 1, 1901. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Francis for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Williams voting nay. City Attorney Haynes presented a petition for David Hicks for re- zoning of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block 2, S. J. Wright Addition for General Retail to Commercial District. Mayor Burnett referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the next regular Council meeting. City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Airport Advisory Board had recommended that a lease be granted to the FAA for a small tract of land at Cox Field for the purpose of installing an antenna for very high frequency direction finder.
