j <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 15, 1980 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Thursday, <br />May 15, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. City Council Room. Mayor Malone called the meeting <br />to order with the following Councilmen present: Travis Wortham, Addie J. Bufford <br />Billy J. Burnett, Kenneth E. Kohls, W. C. Francis, and Ronald Kyle, Also present <br />were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. <br />C. Greene. <br />Mr. Robert Burns appeared before the Council stating that he represented several <br />property owners in the area concerning the placement of a mobile home on Lot 2, <br />City Block 134 in the 600 Block of West Sherman Street. Mr. Burns stated that he <br />was absent during the time that authorization was given for placement of the mobile <br />home on the lot at the meeting held on May 12, 1980. Mr. Burns stated that he <br />represented a number of property owners in the area. <br />After considerable discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by <br />Councilman Kohls to rescind the authorization for the mobile home previously made <br />and tabled until the Director of Community Development can survey all owners with- <br />in 200 feet and report to the Council. The vote was taken which showed 3 ayes, 4 <br />nays, Councilman Francis, Councilman Kyle, Councilman Bufford, Councilman Wortham <br />voting nay. <br />Mr. Burns indicated that he would file injection proceedures to halt the placement of <br />the mobile home on the lot. <br />The Council proceeded into a workshop session concerning the 1980 -81 budget of the <br />City. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />MICHAEL E.
