19 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />July 14, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />July 14, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: Travis Wortham, Addie J. Bufford, Billy J. Burnett, <br />Kenneth E. Kohls, W. C. Francis, and Ronald Kyle. Also present were City Manager, <br />R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Rev. Milton Guttierrez. <br />Mayor Malone asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meeting furnished to the Council members. There being none, the minutes were <br />approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of Jessie Hall for <br />a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District and Retail District to a <br />General Retail District and Specific Use Permit -Auto Laundry on Lots 2, 2A, and 2B, <br />City Block 61, located on the'South side of Tudor Street between 5th Street and 6th <br />Street N. E. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public hearing <br />was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2513 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH - <br />ING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, AUTO LAUNDRY (3), <br />ON LOTS 2, 2A AND 2B, CITY BLOCK 61, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JESSE HALL, SO AS <br />TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT <br />(2F) AND A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE <br />GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, AUTO LAUNDRY (3) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of J. F. and R. L. <br />Powers for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a <br />Light Industrial District on Lot 14 and 15, City Block 305, located on the !hest <br />side of 19th N. W. approximately 250 feet north of Henderson Street. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. Eric Clifford appeared in <br />behalf of the petitioners stating that an Auto Repair Shop was proposed for the <br />lot in question. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />
