4. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />September 8, 1980 <br />49 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />September 8, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: Travis Wortham, Billy J. Burnett, Kenneth E. Kohls, <br />W. C. Francis, and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City Manager R. W. Sokoll, <br />City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Rev. F.`M. Hamilton. <br />Mayor Malone asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meetings furnished to the Council members. There being none, the minutes were <br />approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of Calvin Gibson <br />for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District to a Commercial District <br />on Lots 12 and 13, City Block 55, located on the Northwest corner of Graham Street <br />and 3rd N. W. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. Calvin Gibson appeared in <br />his behalf stating that he proposed to operate a Real Estate Office at that location. <br />Mayor'Malone called for opponents to appear, and none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed and <br />ORDINANCE NO 2526 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH- <br />ING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOTS 12 AND 13, CITY BLOCK 55, ON PROPERTY BE- <br />LONGING TO CALVIN R. GIBSON AND MILDRED C. GIBSON, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN <br />TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for amendment to the Zoning <br />Ordinance: Greb Construction Company, Inc. Lot 2, Block 227C from Two Family <br />Dwelling District to MF -1 District; Lonnie Kennemer, Doyle Whitaker, and J. W. <br />Harrison, lots 4, 5, and 6, Block B. Wynnwood Addition from Single Family Two <br />District, to Planned Development - Housing Community Unit Development. <br />Mayor Malone referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendations, and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendation made by the Traffic Commission. <br />
