A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded <br />j by Councilman Williams excusing Mayor Malone from the Council Chambers. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone left the Council chambers, and Mayor Pro -Tem Burnett assumed the <br />chair of the Mayor. <br />Mayor Burnett advised that Blackbirds had infested the property in Johnson Woods <br />area on a track of land approximate size of four acres belonging to Floyd Malone <br />and Glen Nash, and that the City was using several approaches to rid the area <br />of the Blackbirds. Fire Chief Burgin appeared before the Council stating that <br />he had been in touch with a consultant in Denton, Texas, and had received several <br />recommendations for moving the birds. After considerable discussion, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Francis to attempt to <br />move the bird using the recommendations received from the consultant. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone entered the Council Chamber and assumed his chair at the Council <br />table. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the City would go into executive session to discuss <br />legal matters with the City Attorney, and the regular session was declared closed, <br />and the executive session open. <br />The City Attorney discussed uniform traffic code and other items with the Council. <br />The executive session was declared closed, and the regular session open. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett to <br />take from the table the item concerning an Ordinance establishing 30 MPH School <br />Zone on Lamar Ave. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2535 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1851; ESTABLISHING THE SPEED LIMIT ON LAMAR <br />AVENUE BETWEEN 30TH STREET'S AND32ND STREET'S INTERSECTION WITH THE SAME; <br />PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS <br />OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />NOVEMBER 1, 1980. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Ordinance.
