MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 27, 1980 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />October 27, 1980 7:00 P. M., City Council Room. Mayor Malone called the meeting <br />to order with the following Councilmen present: Travis Wortham, Billy J. <br />Burnett, Kenneth E. Kohls, W. C. Francis, and Ronald Kyle. Also present were <br />City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. <br />Greene. <br />Mayor Malone announced the first order of business would be to consider the <br />awarding of the bid for one water pump for the landfill such bids having been <br />received at the regular session of the October 13, 1980 Council meeting. <br />Director of Public Works, Darrell Gunn appeared before the Council reviewed <br />the specifications with the Council, and recommended the low bid of the Triple <br />A Company in the amount of $3,891.00 be accepted. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham to award the bid to the Triple A <br />Rental in the amount of $3,891.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Dan Brotton, Public Works Supervisor appeared before the Council and reviewed <br />the status of the street sweeper. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the Council would go into executive session for <br />the purpose of discussing pending claims and suits with the City Attorney, <br />and the regular session was declared closed and the executive session open. <br />City Attorney Haynes discussed a suit against the City titled Hindman vs. <br />Smith et al. <br />Mayor Malone declared the executive session closed, and the regular open. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. <br />lc ae E.
