i-7 <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the proposed rate increase of <br />the Texas Power & Light Company. Mr. Travis King, District Manager of the <br />Texas Power & Light Company appeared before the Council and explained the <br />proposed rate increase. Mr. Austin Dowdy, Mr. James Holland, and Mrs. Irene <br />Norton appeared before the Council in opposition to the increase. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing closed. <br />Mayor Malone advised the Council that the City of Paris had joined the other <br />Texas Municipal League Cities who are being served by Texas Power & Light <br />Company to make a study and presentation to the Public Utility Commission. <br />Resolution No. 2011 resolving that the Texas Power & <br />schedule, approved by the Public Utility Commission <br />to be placed on operation throughout the Texas Power <br />incorporated service area, is accepted as binding up <br />upon the placing the same in effect throughout the <br />Company service area was presented. A motion was ma <br />to disapprove the Resolution. Mayor Malone called f <br />and no second was presented, and Mayor Malone declar <br />Light Company rate <br />in Docket No. 3006, <br />& Light Company un- <br />on the City of Paris <br />Texas Power & Light <br />de by Councilman Williams <br />or a second to the motion <br />ed the motion failed. <br />
