MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL February 29, 1980 The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Friday, February 29, 1980 at 5:15 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr., Billy Joe Burnett, Jim Farris, and W. C. Francis. Also present were City Manager, Robert W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Mayor Malone announced that the special council meeting was called for the purpose of considering bids received for approximately 12,500' of 6" Plastic Water Pipe. Mayor Malone called for tabulation of bids and the following bids were received: Waterworks Supply Company, Texarkana, Tx. $3.14 per ft. $39,250.00 2 -Truck Loads (Based on 12,500') Trans -Tex Supply Company, Richardson, Tx. $3.06 L. F. $38,250.00 (12,5001) Less 2% Disc. - 765.00 City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of the Trans -Tex Supply Company in the amount of $38,250.00 less 2% discount be approved. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Farris approving the recommenda- tion of the City Manager. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll requested authorization for change orders relating to the 34th Street N. E. Drainage Project. The Manager requested a change order be authorized to the David Buster Construction Company for the Pine Mill Road and 7th N. W. contract in the amount of $25,520.00 for 588 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe and two inlets for the incorporation of the 34th Street N. E. Drainange Project, and that an additional change order be authorized to the Wise Sullivan Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $7,407.00 for the remaining portion of the concrete channel. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Farris approving the request of the City Manager and change orders. The motion carrier! 5 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll requested the Council's consideration of a Resolution amending a water line agreement with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company for a water line to the southwest part of the City co- sponsored by E. D. A. Resolution No. 2013 authorizing the Mayor to execute a water line agreement with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Burnett for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
