Five Councilmen for the City of Reno seated theMselves in joint session with the <br />City Council of the City of Paris. <br />The joint session was called by both councils to discuss the request of the City <br />of Reno for waste water treatment service from the City of Paris. Mayor Malone <br />advised both councils of the action that. was taken in the May 1, 1978 meeting <br />concerning the offer of the City of Paris to negotiate a contract, the action being <br />as follows. <br />1. The minimum monthly rate to treat Reno sewer would equal monthly <br />payment from Paris to Reno for capital investment. <br />2. The volume of effluent to be received from Reno be limited to a <br />volume approved by the City of Paris as a maximum volume required <br />for h population of 2,180 <br />3. The future city limit lines of the City of Reno be established <br />and agreed to by the City Councils of both cities. <br />Mayor Malone asked for discussion and Mr. Ronnie Smith of the City of Reno suggested <br />that the service afea or city limit lines be set as "property develops and the time <br />comes ". Councilman Williams stated that he felt that now is the time to establish <br />the service areas. Councilman Farris suggested that the City of Paris have the <br />rights of first serving or refusal of service for areas outside the suggested line. <br />After further discussion, Mayor Malone declared the City Council in executive session. <br />In executive session the City Council discussed service area limit lines. <br />Mayor Malone declared the Council back in regular session. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Philley that the <br />Manager be authorized to prepare and transmit a letter to the City of Reno present- <br />ing a map and terns under which the City of Paris will treat the effluent of the <br />City of Reno. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />There being no further business, both Councils adjourned. <br />MAYOR MICHAEL MALONE <br />ATTEST: H. C. GREENE <br />
