property, and that the petitioner did not object to the General Retail classification <br />as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission rather than the Commercial <br />District originally requested. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Ordinance No. 2389 <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMEND -ING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR) ON A PART OF LOT 1, BLOCK B, JEFFERSON HEIGHTS <br />ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO LESLIE.ECHOLS, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE-THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES <br />OF THE GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes., 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone advised that the next order of business would be consideration of Apftoval <br />of replat of Lot 24, City Block 312, located on the north side of Clairksyille Street <br />between 34th S.E. and 36th S.E. Councilman Farris requested to be excused from this <br />item on the agenda. Motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by'Councilman <br />Wunsch.to excuse Councilman Farris. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />.Councilman Farris left the Council Chambers. <br />Mr. Brad Hutchison, Attorney, appeared representing Mr. Join R gert, stating that <br />there was access to the property involved rather than being land locked lot, and <br />that the purpose of tNe plat was to create a residential building site for Lot �4B <br />which would have dcces� to'A public street y_81 wide easement at oss Lot 2AA belong- <br />ing to Dr. Larry Walk&. Mt. Hutchison adV�led that'a fire hydr= alas withiI" i9d' <br />and located on CardloAl Lane. <br />Discussion was had between City Attorney Hayhes acid Mr. Hlitchl son bohcerni ng local <br />statute regulating lots without access to public streets. <br />Mayor Malone advised that this iteri would bd hassed for later' in the meeting giving <br />an opportunity for the City Attorney to search the Code of Ordinances. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a Replat of Lot 1, City Block 266, and noted that the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended its approval.. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Wunsch approving the replat. Motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Councilman Farris entered the - Council Chamber and assumed his chair. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for re- zoning: Gene McWaters, <br />Jr., part of Lot 1, City Block 344 from Agriculture and Single Family Dwelling <br />rx <br />
