No further action was taken by the Council.. <br />Councilmah Farris recommended to the Council to consider a future ordinance: referrinc! <br />to Public Utility Commission of the State of Texas the rate making Authority for the <br />City of Paris. <br />Mr. Felix Gibson, President Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the <br />Council expressing the desire of the Chamber of Commerce to cooperate with the City <br />in all matters concerning the City of Paris. <br />City Manager Sokol] advised the Council that the signalization for 24th S.E. railroad <br />crossing had been bddgeted in the 1977 -78 budget, but had never been authorized for <br />— tohstruction, and that the item was in the proposed budget for the next fiscal year. <br />No action was recommended on the matter and was referred to the Traffic Commission <br />for further study. <br />Resolution No. 1864 appointing C. D. Hilburn as a member of the Firemen and Policemen <br />Civil Service Commission of the.City of Paris for the un- expired term of James W. <br />Farris for a period ending December 31, 1979 was Dresented. Motion Was trade by <br />Councilman'Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the appointment. Motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 1 nay. Councilman Philiey Voting nay. <br />
