28J <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COtWCIL MEETING Old +HE CITY OF PARIS <br />August 28, 1978 <br />The specidl council meeting of the dity of Paris wag held Monday, August 28, 1978, <br />at 7:00 PAM. Mayor Malone called the meeting to otdiat with the following Council <br />members present: B. J. Burnett, JIA Farris, Georgd Visher, Dave Philley, halter <br />F. Willidtas, and kaymond. Wunsch. Also present were City Manager, Robert 4a 50koll <br />City Atio%ney, T. K. Haynes and City Clerk, H. C. drdine. <br />Invocatiod was given by Mr. Bili Kirlg. <br />Mayor 14616ie called on Mr. Bob Haytet, Hayter Engineering, Consulting Engineer <br />on the Infiltration Inflow Survey to give the Council a summary of the IndUatrial <br />flow monitoring. Mr.. Hayter recommended the installation of permanent.monitdking <br />locations at each industrial site and a continuing program of testing and <br />monitoring of each industry. <br />Mr. Reeves Hayter also appeared before the Council with Mr. Bob Hayter showing <br />slides of monitoring equipment used in their survey. <br />Mayor Malone called for reading of an Ordinance which would be the next step, <br />in the annexation process of the Hollywood Vassarette property. <br />ANNEXATION ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY <br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION. <br />OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 25.871 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, <br />WHICH IS LESS THAN TEN PER CENT(10 %) OF THE TERRITORY INCLUDED <br />WITHIN ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT <br />TO ANDADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS. <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING ZONING FOR SAID TERRITORY. <br />Mayor Malone advised that introductidii of the Ordinance by reading W#1.3. the <br />only action necessary. <br />City Man4g+er Sokoll advised the Council that Lowry Chevrolet Company had <br />informed the City that they were unable to furnish a 314 ton pickup for <br />the Fire Department as awarded at the.last regular council meeting',' -and.. <br />that they c6uld not sheet specificaiioiis'because of federal regulati"s <br />which they were not aware of prior to bidding.. The Manager advised the <br />Council that the next low bid was that of Kosterman Motor Company in the <br />amdtint of $7,595.00 which meets all specifications, and recommended that <br />the Lowry Chevrolet Company be relieved of .their obligations and that the <br />Kosterman Motor Company be awarded the bid. . <br />A motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded by Cdutcfi tett wilithma <br />approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The motion carkied <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
