MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />September 11, 1978 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />September 11, 1978 at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order �- <br />with the following Council members present: B. J. Barnett, Jim Farris, George <br />Fisher, Jr., Raymond Wunsch, and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City <br />Manager, Robert W. Sokoll, H. C. Greene, City Clerk, and T. K. Haynes, City <br />Attorney. <br />Prayer was offered by Reverend Carl Vogel. <br />Mayor Malone ask if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meetings and furnished to the Council members. There being none, the minutes <br />were approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition on Gene McWaters <br />Jr., for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (9A) and One Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 to a Commercial District (c) on part of lots 1 and 3, <br />City Block 344 located on the Southwest corner of Bonham Street and 41st S. W. <br />which was recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission for the change to <br />be made. <br />Councilman Philley entered the Council chambers and assumed his chair at the <br />Council table. <br />Mr. Brad Hutchison appeared before the Council stating that the requested <br />change would enhance the neighborhood with the expectation that commercial <br />establishment would benefit the community around the property in question. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing closed and Ordinance No 2404 <br />AN ORDINANCE A14ENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON A PART <br />OF LOT 1 AND A PART OF LOT 3, CITY BLOCK 344, ON PROPERTY BELONGING <br />TO GENE MCWATERS, JR., SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY <br />DESIGNATED AS Ali AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A) AND A ONE - FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COI-- JMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED: <br />was presented. Motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council- <br />man Wunsch for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented the final plat of Pine Mill Village No. 6. It <br />was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended the appsoval <br />subject to the exceptions listed in Director of Public Works Memorandum dated <br />September 5, 1978, and with additional stipulation that funds be placed in <br />escrow by the developer for installation of curb and gutter along Pine Mill <br />Road.
