City Manager Greene submitted a replat of Lots 5 and 6, Block R, Tanglewood Add4_t4.on <br />No. 8 and stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission had unanimously approver? <br />the replat subject to an e;R -tement along the north side of lots 5 and 6 to be noted <br />7.5' utility easement and that the 20' drainage easement between lots 6 and 7 be <br />noted on the replat. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher approving the replat with the exceptions noted by the City Manager. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented petitions for rezoning from Jack Denman on Lot 11, <br />Block 8, Town North Estates Part 2 from a Commercial District to a Commercial <br />District. and Specific Use- Gasoline Service Station (48) and from Mike Julian on <br />Lots 12 and 13, City Block 259 from a Single Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a <br />Multi - Family Dwelling District No. 1. Mayor Brunette referred the petitions to.the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission for study and recommendation and called for a public <br />hearing at the next regular Council meeting. <br />At this time Mayor Brunette welcomed members of the high school government class <br />and invited them back any time. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the next item would be the third and final public <br />hearing on the Community Development Block Grant prior to preapplication. He declarc4 <br />the public hearing open and invited comments from the audience. Lt. Earnest Bransct: <br />spoke first supporting the Human Resources Council request for acquisition of a <br />site to be used as a Senior Citizens Center in the northeast section of the City. _ <br />He pointed out that such a site was needed very much and urged the Council to incluJs <br />it in the application for the Community Development Block Grant. <br />City Manager Greene presented to the Council and to the audience, Staff recommen? .--ion! <br />for projects to be included in the application as follows: <br />1. Housing Rehabilitation (approximately 20 units). <br />2. Acquisition of property for Senior Citizen Center in the northeast <br />section of the City. <br />3. Installation of 6" water mains and *paving for the following streets: <br />a. 9th N.W. - Campbell Street to Garrett Street <br />b. 8th N.W. - Campbell. Street to Garrett Street <br />c. Long Street - 7th N.W. to 8th N.W. <br />d. 15th N.W. - Campbell Street to Henderson Street <br />e. 28th N.W. - Graham Street to_Campbell Street <br />f. 10th N.E. - Blake Road to Clement Road <br />g. Cherry Street - 3rd N.E. to 4th N.E. <br />h. 17th N.E. - Tudor Street to Blake Road <br />*Pavement proposed consists of 8" base material with double penetration surface <br />treatment. No curb and gutter is proposed. <br />
