RESOLUTION NO. 1892 , <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did at its <br />regular meeting on the 14th day of August, 1978, approve the <br />advertisement for bids for a new maintenance building to be lo- <br />cated at 50 West Hickory Street, Paris, Texas, which bids were <br />received until 10:00 o'clock A. M., Thursday, October 5, 1978; and, <br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction project was <br />made by George Spencer, d/b /a Spencer Construction, and he <br />should be awarded the contract for such project; and, <br />WHEREAS, the form of contract to complete said project <br />is attached hereto as Exhibit A; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the bid of George Spencer, d/b /a Spencer <br />Construction, for the construction of a new maintenance building <br />to be located at 50 West Hickory Street, Paris, Texas, in the <br />amount of $41, 692.00, is hereby accepted and let, conditioned <br />upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications <br />included in the bid documents; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of- the <br />City of Paris, Robert W. Sokoll, be, and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract <br />for the above described work, upon the terms and conditions and <br />in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto; with George <br />Spencer, . d/b /a Spencer Construction. - <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of October, 1978. . <br />Michael E. Haynes, City Afforney <br />Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business would be consideration <br />of authorization of contracts for pumps, motors, and appurtenances in the <br />water treatment plant. Mayor Malone stated he would recommend one pump and <br />motor only be installed in the water treatment plant as a stand by. <br />Resolution No. 1593 authorizing the City Manager to execute on behalf of <br />the City of Paris four contracts for the furnishing of equipment for two <br />pumps and motors and appurtenances was presented. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Farris, seconded by Councilman Philley for adoption of the <br />Resolution. Motion carried 4 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Burnett abstaining, <br />Mayor Malone voting nay. <br />
