RESOLUTION NO. 1893
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
<br />regular meeting on the 14th day of August, 1978, approv-- the ad-
<br />vertisement for bids for the furnishing of 2 pumps and motors,
<br />2 motor controls, 2 pump control valves and 2 butterfly valves,
<br />for use at the Water Treatment Plant, which bids were received
<br />until 10:00.o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, September 6, 1978; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for the 2 pumps and motors, in the
<br />amount of $67,498. 00, was made by Southern Engine & Pump Co.
<br />the best bid for 2 motor controls, in the amount of $11, 518. 77,
<br />was made by General Electric; the best bid for 2 pump control
<br />valves, in the amount of $10,464. 00, was made by Asa Hunt, Inc. ;
<br />and the best bid for 2 butterfly valves, in. the amount cf $2, 760. 00,
<br />was made by Allis Chalmers Company, and each should be
<br />awarded the contract for the furnishing of such equipment; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the forms of contract for the furnishing of the
<br />above described equipment by the four separate bidders are
<br />attached hereto as Exhibits A - through D; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF PARIS, That the bids of Southern Engine & Pump Co.,
<br />General Electric, Asa Hunt, Inc. and Allis Chalmers Company,
<br />for the furnishing of the several items of equipment described
<br />above, are hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said con-
<br />tractors meeting all of the terms and specifications included in
<br />the bid documents, and, _
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
<br />City of" Paris, Robert W. Sokoll, be, and he is hereby authorized
<br />and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the four
<br />contracts for the furnishing of the above described equipment;
<br />upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibits 'A
<br />through D attached hereto, with Southern Engine & Pump Co.,
<br />General Electric, Asa Hunt, Inc. and Allis, Chalmers Company.
<br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of 'October, 1978.
