City Manager Sokoli presented the followi.np petitions for rezoning: Dixie <br />Harlan part of Lot 1, City Block 319, 5 acres from Agriculture District to <br />Commercial District; ;James and Robert Moseley, Lots 3, 4, and 5, City Block <br />102C, from General Retail District to Planned Development District - Mini <br />Warehouses. <br />Mayor Malone refered the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission and <br />called for public hearing at.the next regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Malone Called for the reading of the Ordinance authorized previously <br />adding one spaoe to the parking map in front of the Plaza Threatre Building. <br />Ordinance No. 2419: <br />AN ORDINANCt OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,.TEXAS PROVIDING <br />THAT T$E CODE OF ORDINANCES C:77711 OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY <br />REVISING THE TRAFFIC PARKING MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) <br />OF SECTION 29 -112 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT <br />TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF DECEMBER 1, 1078. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch., seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance previously authorized for installation . <br />of stop signs and yield signs. Ordinance No. 2420: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS BE AMENDED <br />BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH <br />(b) OF SECTION 29 -80 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT <br />TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES <br />IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />DECEMBER 1, 1978. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for a reading of a previously authorized Ordinance establish- <br />ing 20 miles per hour speed zone on 38th Street. S. E. between Dawn Drive and <br />Morningside Drive. Ordinance No. 2421: <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING 20 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON 38TH <br />STREET , S. E. FROM THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE ON DAWN DRIVE SOUTH <br />TO THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF MORNINGS-'7; PROVIDING FOR A FINE <br />NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORD- <br />INANCES IN CONFLICT-HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF DECEMBER 1, 1978. <br />was presented. -A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Wunsch for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 5 ayes, 2 nags. Council- <br />man Farris, and Councilman Philley voting nay. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that the Traffic Commission had recommended the <br />removal of stop signs on Kaufman at 3rd S. W. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing the City Attorney <br />to prepare an Ordinance for presentation at the next regular Council Meeting. <br />Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
