3 To <br />Mayor Malone invited the attention of the Council to the recommendation of <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission that the subdivision ordinance be amended. <br />City Attorney Haynes expressed the opinion that some objection would be made <br />by subdividers and recommended that the amendments be referred to the Building <br />`Commission. <br />After discussion by =the Council, a motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded <br />by Councilman William that the City Manager have some member of the staff prepare <br />a synopsis of the subdivision Ordinance revisions and provide the synopsis to <br />members of the City Council. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 ndya. <br />Mayor Malone advised the.Council that the local girl scout trotip 63 was <br />in attendance for the burpose of making a request to the Council and requested <br />the Council to depart from the regular agenda and take up the girl scout proposal <br />at this time. A mothlf'was made. by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Cbunc =lman <br />Burnett to approve the request of the Mayor. Motion carried 7 ayes,.0 nays. <br />Mrs. Nora Hayter presented several members of the Girl Scout Troup.who recommended <br />the passage of legislation prohibiting the sale of products in non - returnable <br />bottles in the State of Texas. The request to the City Council was as follows: <br />At this time the Red Rider Valley Girl Scout Council of Texas would like to <br />recommend to the City Council that they draft a letter to the State Legislature <br />recommending that they pass a law prohibiting the sale of non - returnable bottles <br />in Texas. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett approving <br />the recommendation. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following referrals: Mable Burchinal, from a <br />Two Family Dwelling District to Neighborhood Service District on Lot 9 and east <br />one -half of Lot 8, Block 4, Poland Addition; Mack Jones, Jr, from a General Retail <br />District to General Retail and Specific Use Permit Commercial Amusement Indoors <br />(I0) on Lot 1, City Block 270; Harrison., Walker, & Harper from Agricultural <br />District to Lighi Industrial on Lot 15, City Block 110-A. Mayor Malone,referred <br />the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and retommenda- <br />tion and called'for,a public hearing at the next regular Council meetif!"g. <br />Mayor Malone advised that the next order of business would be consideration of <br />reeormendations made by the Airport Advisory Board, Mr. Rick Rex appeared be- <br />fore the Council in behalf of recommendation made by the Board stating that. <br />the Board had recommended that the City lease the hangar beginning Januafy 1,,1979" <br />for a period of 10 years with two 5'year options to Mr. Jiminy.14renh for the purpose <br />of performing airplane maintenance detVite. Mr. Rex advised that the racoarinenda- <br />tion for rental fee was for $3013.00 a mtifith. Frith the City paying` all utilities <br />and the City iesei*ing for its use the o�erations office, pilot lounge and <br />restrooms,,anid that the monthly rental fee would be increased to $350.00 and <br />free utilities anise the City had vacated the operations office, pilot lounge <br />and restrms; that tine currant tenants now leasing space from the City shall <br />be allowed to remain iii the large hangar until the first of the month which <br />falls after 30 days of completation and acceptance of new T. hangar buildings <br />that is now under construction. <br />
