r <br />MI14UTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />December 19, 1978 <br />. <br />The Special Council meeting of the City of Paris was held Tuesday, December 19, <br />1978 at 5:15 P.M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the following <br />Councilmen present: B. J. Burnett, Walter, F. Williams, David Philley, George <br />Fisher, Jr. Also present were City Manager Sokoll, City Clerk, H. C. Greene, <br />and City Attorney, T. R. Haynes. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the special council meeting was called for the <br />purpose of discussing the Economic Development Administration Grant Application <br />for water extension in the southwest part of the City, and to take any action <br />necessary concerning the application. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented an amended budget increasing the project to <br />$498,700.00. Ennis Killingsworth, Director of Public Works, appeared before <br />the Council discussing the extent of the project and the sizing of the lines <br />to the southwest part of the City for the industrial development. <br />Dicussion was had on present zoning of property in the Southwest area of the <br />City, andwas informed by Mr. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development <br />that c of the property was now zoned as agricultural. After further <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Philley, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett authorizing the preparation of a Resolution to be presented at a future <br />council meeting directing the beginning of proceedures to rezone agricultural <br />property to Light Industrial Zoning in the southwest part of the City according <br />to the master plan from the Texas and Pacific Railroad. to Highway 24. The <br />motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokol.l presented Resolution No. 1913 authorizing and directing <br />the application to the Ecouomic.Development Administration for the extension <br />of water distributicr. lines to service industrial areas in the south and. <br />southwest section of the City be increased to a total project cost of <br />$498,700.00, $299,220.00 to be provided by grant and $199,480.00 to be provided <br />by local funds and in kind services. <br />
