Following discussion a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Philley to authorize the City's participation in hiring the firm of ToucheiRoss in <br />the matter of the Bell Telephone Co. rate case. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. �- <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a report on the ordinance covering the installation <br />of insulation stating that a penalty clause was needed to make the ordinance more <br />enforceable. <br />Mayot- Brunette called for the reading of the ordinance. Ordinance No. 2382 <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE <br />NTJMBERED 7 -25, PROVIDING THAT SECTIONS 7 -20 THROUGH 7 -24 ARE A PART Off' <br />THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF PARIS AND ESTABLISHING THE PUNISHM4ENT <br />FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE SAME; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED <br />$200.009 REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF 14AY 1, 1978." <br />was presented. Councilman Fisher moved for adoption of the ordinance. Councilman <br />Philley deconded -the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A request for mater service in the "gray area" from Phillip Whitaker on Cope Drive <br />in Pine Mill-Addition was approved on a motion by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by <br />Councilman Pfiilley. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette stated that an emergency item had been placed on the agenda and <br />City Manager Greene explained saying that authorization was needed to advertise for <br />bids to replace one police patrol vehicle demolished in a traffic accident April <br />7, 1978. He went on to say that the vehicle was beyond repair and that this left <br />the Police Department in a bad situation. Mayor Brunette requested a motion. <br />Councilman Williams made a motion to authorize the receiving of bids for one patrol <br />vehicle for consideration at the next regular meeting. Councilman Wunsch seconded <br />the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />mayor Brunette stated copies of the Touche- Ross.and Co. report on the Texas Power <br />and Light Co. rate request had been received and City Manager Greene gave a brief <br />report on it. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the regular session closed and executive session, open. <br />Real property acquisition and personnel matters were discussed by the Council. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the regular session open and announced no action was <br />necessary on the items discussed in executive session. <br />
