rL � <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 28, 1974 <br />The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris on May 28, 1974, <br />at 5 :00 P.M., was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the following <br />Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, Tr1. M. (Dub) <br />Moore, and Sam M. Stone. Also present were -City Manager K.- R. Sweatt, City <br />Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the Special Council Meeting had been called <br />at the request of the City Manager for the purpose of presenting his pro- <br />posed budget for the fiscal year 1974 -1975. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented his proposed budget for all funds to the <br />Council and requested that a Public Hearing be called in accordance with <br />the City Charter. <br />Mayor Brunette expressed his appreciation to the Manager and Staff for the <br />financial plan of the City. <br />A.motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman Stone <br />that the Public Hearing be called for the next Regular Council Meeting, <br />June 10, 1974. The motion carried: 6 ayes, O nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that Lowry Chevrolet had advised <br />the City of the unavailability of the vehicle ordered for use by the Sani- <br />tation Department and requested authorization to advertise for bids for <br />a Chassis and Cab, to be received July 5, 1974, with provisions to attempt <br />to work out some solution prior to receipt of bids with Lowry Chevrolet, <br />Inc. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman <br />Moore that the request of the City Manager be approved.
