13 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF TIME CITY COUNCIL <br />June 10, 1974 <br />The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris on June 10, <br />1974, at 7:00 P. M., was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the <br />following Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, O. L. Rainey, Joe Kind, Brad <br />Hutchison, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sam M. Stone. Also present were City <br />Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Councilman Whitaker. <br />Mayor Brunette asked if there were any additions or corrections to`the Minutes <br />of the previous meetings as furnished the members of the Council. There <br />being none, the Minutes were approved. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be considera- <br />tion of the recommendations contained in the minutes of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meeting held on June 3, 1974. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open and continued on the peti- <br />tion of Edna Gardner, to change from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />to.a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 and Specific Use Permit, Day Nur- <br />sery, the North 300 feet of Lot 24, City Block 249, having been recommended <br />by the Planning and Zoning Commission for re- zoning. <br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mr. Bill Pitts, Realtor, <br />appeared before the Council stating that the property had been sold to i:rs. <br />Bobby Winters. Mr. Pitts advised that no new construction was planned and <br />petition for re- zoning had been changed to include only the North 300 feet <br />of the lot. <br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Ordinance No. 2189: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS2 AND CHANGING THE BOWDARIFS <br />ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING <br />A ONE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2) AND SPECIFIC <br />USE PERMIT, DAY NURSERY (25), ON A PART OF LOT 24, CITY <br />BLACK 249, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO EDNA GARDNER, SO AS <br />TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE <br />FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 <br />(SF -2) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, DAY NURSERY, (25), SO ES- <br />TABLISHED." <br />was presented. A.motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Hutchison that the Ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 7 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />A;ayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Elmer. <br />anti Neil ;�A-iitakcr, d /b /a Paris Hide and Fur Company, to change from a Light <br />Industrial District to a Heavy Industrial District, Specific Use Permit, <br />Tanning, Curing or Storage of Skins or Hides, Lot 2 and 3, City Block 47. <br />Ir. Neil 1�niitaker appeared in behalf of the petitioners and stated that <br />there would be change in their business procedures and that the business <br />needed more room. <br />s unette called fox opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />
