13 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF TIME CITY COUNCIL June 10, 1974 The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris on June 10, 1974, at 7:00 P. M., was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the following Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, O. L. Rainey, Joe Kind, Brad Hutchison, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sam M. Stone. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by Councilman Whitaker. Mayor Brunette asked if there were any additions or corrections to`the Minutes of the previous meetings as furnished the members of the Council. There being none, the Minutes were approved. Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be considera- tion of the recommendations contained in the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting held on June 3, 1974. Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open and continued on the peti- tion of Edna Gardner, to change from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to.a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 and Specific Use Permit, Day Nur- sery, the North 300 feet of Lot 24, City Block 249, having been recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission for re- zoning. Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mr. Bill Pitts, Realtor, appeared before the Council stating that the property had been sold to i:rs. Bobby Winters. Mr. Pitts advised that no new construction was planned and petition for re- zoning had been changed to include only the North 300 feet of the lot. Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear and none appeared. Ordinance No. 2189: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS2 AND CHANGING THE BOWDARIFS ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A ONE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, DAY NURSERY (25), ON A PART OF LOT 24, CITY BLACK 249, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO EDNA GARDNER, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, DAY NURSERY, (25), SO ES- TABLISHED." was presented. A.motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Coun- cilman Hutchison that the Ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. A;ayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Elmer. anti Neil ;�A-iitakcr, d /b /a Paris Hide and Fur Company, to change from a Light Industrial District to a Heavy Industrial District, Specific Use Permit, Tanning, Curing or Storage of Skins or Hides, Lot 2 and 3, City Block 47. Ir. Neil 1�niitaker appeared in behalf of the petitioners and stated that there would be change in their business procedures and that the business needed more room. s unette called fox opponents to appear and none appeared.
