<br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear, and Mr. Hardy Moore, Attorney, re-
<br />presenting Michael T. Halbouty, appeared speaking in favor of the change.
<br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear, and none appeared.
<br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on Tract #3, to change from a Commer-
<br />cial District to a One - Family Dwelling District, Lots 1 through 8, City'Block 188 -C,
<br />and Lots 2, 3, 3 -A, 4, 5,-5-A, 5 -B, and 5 -C, City Block 188 -D, located between 6th
<br />Street S. E. and 12th Street S. E., north of old Jefferson Road.
<br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear, and Mr. Hardy Moore, representing
<br />Michael T. Halbouty, spoke in favor of the change.
<br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear., and Mr. Paul Horne, 795 Jefferson Road,
<br />owner of Lot 8, Block 188 -C, appeared before the Council and stated that he would like
<br />his property to remain commercial; that he manufactured fish bait and built custom
<br />`fishing rods, and operated an electrical contracting business out of his house al-
<br />though he was doing no electrical business at the present time; that he purchased the
<br />property about I2 years ago as an investment. Mr. Horne requested that the public
<br />hearing be continued for a 30 day period rather than re- zone at the.present time.
<br />Mr. Raymond Pomroy appeared, requesting that Lot 1 and 2, Block 188 -C, remain commer-
<br />cial. Mr. Pomroy stated that he had operated a business on the northeast corner of
<br />6th Street S. E. and Jefferson Road for about 18 years, and it now appeared, con-
<br />trary to his statement to the Planning and Zoning Commission the previous Monday, that
<br />he needed Commercial Zoning to remain not only on Lot I but Lot 2 as well.
<br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed.
<br />Councilman Whitaker stated that it was his opinion that Tracts 1 and 2 should be re- -
<br />zoned and that the public hearing on Tract #3 should be continued to the next regular
<br />Council Meeting.
<br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing reopened, and continued on Tract #3.

<br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman
<br />Stone that the ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman Rainey that the
<br />public hearing on Tract #3 be continued to the next Regular Council Meeting. The
<br />motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />City Attorney Haynes presented a petition for re- zoning of Lots 10, 11, 12, and 13,
<br />Block A, Johnson Woods Estates, owned by Harper, Harper, and Harper to change from
<br />an SF-2 and Gzneral Retail District to a Planned Development, Shopping Center, and
<br />Housing Development. Mayor Brunette referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning
<br />Commission for their study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at
<br />the next regular Council Meeting.
