16 <br />City Manager-Sweatt advised the Council that at a meeting with the Airport Advisory <br />Board on the evening of December 6, 1974 to discuss the actions up to this time under <br />the Runway Extension Program that the board recommended that the runway be extended <br />750 feet on each end and that the turn arounds be deleted from the proposed plans <br />together with other revisions to bring the project into budget. City Manager Sweatt <br />stated that he had no recommendation at the present time. Mr. Clay Roming, repre- <br />sentative of Shimek, Roming Jacobs and Finklea, appeared before the Council. He <br />stated that he would defer recommendation at.the present time and stated that he be- <br />lieved that the amount can be brought into the budgeted amounts. Mr. Roming <br />advised that the next step would be to seek FAA.approval of changes to bring the pro- <br />ject into budgeted amounts. <br />City Manager Sweatt reminded the Council of their authorization to prepare an ordi- <br />nance to change 3rd Street N. W. from Bonham to Graham Street to a two -way traffic <br />pattern. <br />Ordinance No. 2204: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2056 OF THE CITY OF PARTS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND <br />CHANGING THE ONE -WAY STREET MAP OF SAID CITY; DELETING 3RD <br />STREET, N. W. AS A ONE -WAY STREET, SOUTH FROM ITS INTER- <br />SECTION WITH GRAHAM STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH BONHAM <br />STREET; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO CHANGE THE ONE -WAY <br />STREET MAP; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY <br />1, 1975 ". <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Council - <br />man Rainey that the ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 7 ayes,. 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for the bids received on December 4, 1974 for the purchase of <br />petroleum products for the period January 1, 1975 to December 31,1975. City Manager <br />Sweatt advised-that only one bid was received and that from the Lewis Oil -Co. on <br />prices for oil and greases only, and that no bid was received on gasoline services. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised that after contact with the South Central Oil Company, <br />the present supplier of gasoline and diesel fuel, that the company had advised their <br />willingness to serve the City on a continuing basis for the next 12 months. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Whitaker that the.bid of the <br />Lewis Oil Company for oil and grease products be approved. The motion carried: .7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of the FAA's direction to revise a letter of <br />agreement for engineering services on the Airport Improvement Project, such agree - <br />ment to take the place of an agreement dated March 28, 1973. City Manager Sweatt <br />recommended that specific amounts be included in the amended agreement as follows: <br />1. Payment to engineer for services performed on FAA Project <br />for preparation of plans and specifications in the lump <br />sum amount of $22,615.00.. <br />2. Payment to the engineer for services performed for general <br />administration of construction lump sum amount of $6,666.00 <br />3. If the City elects to have the engineer furnish services of <br />a resident project representative for continuous on -site <br />inspection charges of $85.00 per day including transportation. <br />4. If the City elects to have the engineer furnish construction <br />line and grade surveys the engineer will furnish a survey party <br />to perform this service at a rate of $250.00 per day including <br />transportation. <br />
